Age-related muscle degradation begins at age 27
The sexual attractiveness of a muscular body is determined evolutionarily – in the wild, developed muscles made it easy to identify a potential partner with high physical endurance and strength. In addition, muscles contain essential reserves of amino acids and glycogen in the body, which increased survival in extreme conditions despite hunger and cold. However, the living conditions of a modern person do not require high physical activity, which is fraught with the early development of sarcopenia – age-related muscle degradation.

However, after the completion of puberty and growth of the body, the synthesis of growth hormones decreases, which in a sedentary lifestyle causes a decrease in muscle mass and an increase in fat. Contrary to popular belief, these processes are slowly progressing on average since the age of 27.
Sarcopenia is insidious in that it begins many years earlier than senile decrepitude, which is already obvious to others, and is its immediate cause.
