Nearsightedness or myopia is a very common vision problem that can usually be corrected with glasses or contact lenses. If you have nearsightedness (myopia), you see clearly when you look at objects close up, but distant objects are out of focus and blurred.
Causes of myopia
Myopia usually occurs when the eye is too elongated along the anteroposterior axis or the cornea refracts light too much. Light is focused on the front of the retina, blurring the image of a distant object.
Myopia can appear at any age, but it usually occurs in children and adolescents. The likelihood of myopia increases if at least one of the parents had it.
Staying focused on a nearby object for a long time, such as when reading, writing or handling portable devices (phones, tablets), as well as working on a computer, can also increase the risk of developing myopia. Outdoor play can help your child slow down the onset of myopia. Recent evidence * suggests that higher levels of natural light are beneficial for vision.Поділитися цим:
